What is Magnus?
Magnus is
an old Swedish family name. Magnus Paver Installment specializes

What are Concrete Paving Stones?
Basically,
the stones are produced by taking a concrete mix and adding whichever oxide
in order to achieve the color you want. Within a special machine, the
mix is vibrated into molds. There are many different shapes of paving
stones, thus many molds. Each layer of the pallet is vibrated and stacked
and left to cure until dry. Once the stones have set they are ready for
use. Depending on the thickness of the stone, 6 cm to 8 cm, the product
can withstand anywhere from 8000 to 9000 lbs. per square inch. Along with
being more aesthetically pleasing than a poured slab, there is an increase in
drainage, and since they are individual units, easily taken up and placed back.
A brief History of using paving stones.
Have you
ever been to Europe? It seems paving stones are everywhere there.
The idea of using paving units is thousands of years old. Some of the
roads are still around that the Romans constructed over 2000 years ago.
The idea is simple, create a product which drains well, can withstand heavy
traffic, and looks unique.
Who is Will Swenson?
Will is a
fifth generation Austinite. He began working for a German company named
Pavex, back in 1995. Will was strictly the salesman, and sold 30,000 square
feet of stones, that were installed in Michael Dell's driveway. He started
some side work with ARCON, a company that was very busy installing Pavex pavers
around the Austin area. After several years with ARCON, Will decided to
go it alone. From 1998 on, Will has been designing and installing paver
landscapes for Austin residents.
